ARTISTIC CREATIVITY, ENGENEERING SPIRIT AND PRECISION WORKMANSHIP
— Master Ateliers is a joint venture from the well known metal constructor Christian Neumaier and the architect Hildegard Rasthofer.
After a classical blacksmith apprenticeship Christian Neumaier obtained the Master title in this craft and qualified himself as a designer in the craftsmanship field. 2006 Christian Neumaier received the „Bayerische Staatspreis“ (Bavarian State Prize for craftsmanship). Hildegard Rasthofer works as an architect in the field of concepts and planning. She is also an expert for Computer Aided Architectural design (CAAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
At the manufacturing plant Metallbau Neumaier in Bavaria, glass constructions of enchanting beauty, are manufactured. The creative principal which characterizes the glass houses by Master Ateliers are that they are functional, sophisticated and aesthetic. The choice of first class materials compliment this principal.
Development intense applications were developed in cooperation with very experienced glass experts, who brought in their technical engineering knowledge. These procedures are subject to an approval. Amazing solutions are found for the very demanding and at times contrary opposing requirements to design, static, construction and the physics of building.

— When Hildegard Rasthofer and Christian Neumaier sit at their big wooden table to discuss ideas and design, then this happens with great intensity and passion. The architect and the metal constructor challenge each other so long until form, material and construction come together to form a perfect unit. Quite often they investigate the borders of what is feasible. Nonetheless, whatever the solution calls for, the couple finds a solution. The results of the congenial joint venture are the aesthetic and constructive glass houses by Master Ateliers. Visions of room and space and technical innovation meet the tradition of advanced craftsmanship.
Hildegard likes to design rooms which can be transformed and rooms which can be used in many different ways in the daily life. »Architecture is not just there for the cause of itself. In my sketches the focus is always on the practical and emotional needs of people, which can change as time goes by.«
Christian has decades of experience in constructing metal and in dealing with glass. His knowledge about the characteristics of the materials allow him to constructively cross over the borders. In each piece of work that he creates, you can feel his high respect for the elaborately produced raw materials. Christian Neumaier is convinced that »If you do not have any respect for the material you work with, you just produce waste.«
